What
is the UKPSF ? The
UKPSF is a voluntary body and exists to promote the sport of paintball, liaise
with government bodies, local authorities and try to make the game of
paintball safe and fun to play. One of the main objectives is to have the game
of paintball recognised by the Sports Council as a sport! Paintball sites have
to complete a questionnaire before being accepted as a member and are given a
code of practice to help with the running of their site. What
is Paintball ? Paintball
is currently one of the fastest growing sports in Europe. Every month
thousands of new players try out the most exciting pastime available. Most
first time players attend a corporate event day, stag party, birthday party or
just get together with a group of friends: Many are "bitten by the
bug" and return on a regular basis. Does
it Hurt ? If
you are wearing sensible clothing - a jacket, thick jumper or overalls, then
the answer is NO!! But if you are running about in the altogether, expect a
short sharp shock. Safety is the key word. On arrival at a site you will be
issued with a safety mask, specifically designed for paintball, protective
clothing and other safety items. A comprehensive safety talk will be given at
the start of the day before any player is allowed to get hold of their marker
(OK then gun!) or start playing. What
do I need to take ? In
practical terms you will need a change of clothing just in case you decide to
crawl in the mud or if it rains, and sensible footwear. High heels are not
conducive to charging around the site. But the most important thing to bring
with you is a sense of humour and a willingness to get stuck in and possibly
make a fool of yourself. Packages can be arranged to last from 3 hours to a
full day. How
do I arrange a game ? The
first thing to do is read through information provided. It is then down to
phoning or emailing for help and advice and to find out what you get for your
money. You will be asked to send a deposit and estimate the number of people
you will be taking. Then it's just a case of turning up on the specified day
